Cindy Zhou · 2026
I pay attention to the parts of student life that usually get ignored.
I am a high school student interested in how people move through ordinary systems — dining halls, emergency alerts, a school website — and what happens when those systems do not quite fit. The projects below grew out of situations I lived through, then tried to make clearer, kinder, or more usable for other students.
Selected projects
Three projects from my last few years — cooking far from home, staying oriented in a campus emergency, and giving a school a clearer public face.
Homekind
An international food companion that helps students cook hometown dishes with whatever is nearby — Crave → Assess → Adapt → Source → Cook → Share.
Student Lighthouse
A connected emergency response system for students, teachers, and admins — from warning to all-clear.
Besant Hill Rebranding
Brand system and website redesign for Besant Hill School — organic forms, IA, and site mockups.
More work coming
Self-intro, additional projects, and live Lighthouse / Besant prototypes can slot in here once you share them.
About Cindy
I am applying to universities with a curiosity about people, places, and the systems that hold them together. A lot of my work starts the same way: something in my own student life felt broken or lonely, so I tried to understand it and build a better response — sometimes an app, sometimes a process, sometimes a brand.
